Boarding: Last Minute Prep

A lot of new clients contact me in the week prior to dropping their pigs off asking if they need to bring anything, or if there’s anything else they need to do ahead of their pets’ stay.

Here’s a quick guide with a few pointers to help you prepare to drop your pigs off:

  • You’ve filled in the Booking In form.
Top tip: I will have chased you up for this if you haven’t, and I wouldn’t have confirmed a drop off day if you haven’t!
  • You’ve arranged a drop off day and time.
Top tip: The Square Appointments system will have sent you a confirmation at the time of accepting the booking AND a reminder in the days prior to your drop off time.
  • You know where you’re coming to drop them off.
Top tip: Our address is on all Square Appointments emails, on Google, on our website, and on Google Maps.
  • You have a suitable travel carrier large enough for your guinea pigs to travel comfortably in.
Top tip: We often stock one or two spare second-hand carriers which we are happy to sell for £5 if you don’t have a suitable one.
  • Don’t forget any medication.
Top tip: Please ensure all medication (or supplementation) is clearly labelled with their name, the dosage and the dose frequency.
  • Remember to bring enough bottled water if your pigs are on this, as we currently use tap water here.
  • You do not need to bring food, hay or bowls/bottles.
  • You are welcome to bring any fresh food that will spoil while you are away.
  • You are welcome to bring a favoured bed or small toys for your pigs.
  • Payment will be arranged via email invoice.
Top tip: This will usually be sent out automatically on drop off day. Payment is by card through our Square system, the link will be on the invoice. Payment is requested on/by collection day, however we do have a grace period.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
